Kaviraj Shyamaldas, who wrote this book, was a royal poet who adorned the court of Maharana Sajjan Singh (1859–84) of Mewar. Overwhelmed by his vast knowledge and erudition, he was bestowed with the honorable titles of ‘Mahamhopadhyay’ and ‘Kaiser-e-Hind’. ‘Veer Vinod’ is his main work.
